In the area of the country where I live, the Sonoran Desert is both bleak and possesses immeasurable beauty...what I have found it is in the 'patient eye' and the time of the season that makes all the difference as to not only what you see but how it captures your attention.
So, one day returning from desert where I run my 4 mini Daschunds, and Blue, my 3/4 Golden Retriever, 1/4 Wolf, I happened onto a small desert ridge near the roadway where this magnificent 6 inch high beautiful red cactus glowed in the sun. Many things catch my eye but this one was really something rare. I had never seen such red in a cactus...ever, and I've lived here for more than 23 years!
Shortly thereafter, I made certain I had my Nikkon D200 with me to capture this digitally. I took several pictures. All of them with different views of this little cactus. My mother-in-law was really the one who inspired me to do something with my pictures. So, since she had put together a blog site along with her sister, I thought I might try my hand at it... In keeping with the overall intent of the blog site to both showcase and share with the public my writing, photography and art I'd dabbled in, it seemed only logical that I try to get a couple of my sons quite well known for their art to join me on this blog site. Really, these 2 guys have talent and it is I who is just 'trying out the water'...
So begins 'Red Cactus Elements'... I hope to have fun with this and at the same time find out what other people think about all the 'elements' of this blog site, whether it might touch a heart, interest an eye, stimulate thought, feelings, caring, expression... maybe, maybe, even some form of healing...

Stunning photography! Welcome to the world of blogging. It is a lot of fun, and also very rewarding. You'll make friends, if you are so inclined, and most importantly, have a forum to express yourself and showcase your interests. And, I find it easier than keeping a journal!
